Hi there, I'd like to record the route from Point A to Point B, traveling along a road, with Google Earth Pro making all the turns automatically. Recording a tour doesn't do what I need, as (as best I can figure out) you have to move from one point to another MANUALLY, which looks terrible when you play it back. I want a street view of this route, simulating what it would look like to drive from Point A to Point B with a very smooth presentation. I've spent hours trying to figure this out and would appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you!

Hi, I guess you are looking for the path tour. If so, just draw a path along your route. When you select it on the left pane, a new button for the tour will appear below the pane and above the Layers pane. The same can be done with a folder of placemarks, as well.

I realize this most is more than 2 years old but it is the same problem I'm trying to solve with a short tour of my old home town. I want a simple street view while "driving" through town. I do not understand your suggestion of drawing a path along the route and then saving that into a folder.
I've set a number of place marks along the path but clicking each in turn lifts the view up then gets close to the mark and backs off. Not smooth at all. Could I put a master command at the start of the folder tour to move from place mark to place mark at the same speed, like at the speed of the original google camera driver? I can almost do it smoothly by sliding my finger along the top of the mouse but the mouse is not long enough.
I would appreciate any help you could give a beginner in creating an amateur tour.

A.As the original poster said, a tour in street view mode will not be smooth. I tried to explain below how to create this. B.This is done by clicking the play button while the parent folder of the placemarks is selected. When you select the folder, the said button appears at the right most end of the area between the Places pane and the Layers pane. C.I suggested creating a path since the smoothest type among types of tours is the tour along a path. However, it will not show you the street view images, as far as I know. (Saving placemarks in a folder was an alternative that I mention in paragraph "B" above.) When you click the path you have drawn, a play button will appear in the same place as explained in paragraph "B" above. STREET VIEW TOUR:* - Enter into the street view mode.
- Select the "Add>Tour" menu command. (and notice that a panel of buttons appears at the bottom of the 3D Earth screen.)
- Click the red button to start the record.
- Starting moving along the road. (you may prefer to use the arrow keys on the keyboard rather than the mouse for a better outcome but, unfortunately, that will not be smooth enough either.)
- When finished, click the same button again to stop the recording.
- If you don't want to append additional routes, click the save button on the same panel, and close it.
Your tour will be saved on the My Places pane as an item. If you want to remove the waiting times you have created between each keyboard hit or mouse action, you need to just delete each gx:Wait information in the kml. (please, further ask how to do this) *: Actually, the explanation is not limited only to tours in street view, but every navigation we do in GE can be, in the same way, saved as a tour item to the MyPlaces pane. Please, be aware that tours are affected by their respective set of parameters selected in the Options dialogue box.

Thank you Tek, for answering, but I still don't understand how to create a path. I have the same problem as MarcP. When I add a Path from the Add command, there are a variety of commands. I can draw a red line by dragging my pointer along a road. I made the altitude ground level, and the red "path" turns white when I close the path. But how do I get the tour along that path to "go"? You sound very knowledgable about Earth. It would be a great help if you went through the commands to create such a path tour, or perhaps sent us an example of a ground level path tour.
