Can't find your image, Oz, but I think this is the place... Very good; Very close, close enough. You are about 10 kms NE of my spot, but it is the same SV Trekker exercise. Maybe you do this already: use GM Map view of the area (zoomed in), click on the pegman (do not drag it). You should see the whole trek. Then click on the blue line to the SW of your point, at its most SW position.

This place is almost surreal. There are only a few places in the world where a big town like the one in the picture is sorrounded by such a beatiful mountain landscape. Very nice find, I must go here soon or later in my life. I am in love. Also I love this kind of puzzles, landscape observing, no keywords involved, just world knowledge!

And that's something almost impossible to do in all the "no-landscape" puzzles

Time for a clue .......... From Douglas Adam's "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy",
"Oh yes," said Slartibartfast. "Did you ever go to a place ... I think it was called Norway?" "No," said Arthur, "no, I didn't." "Pity," said Slartibartfast, "that was one of mine. Won an award you know. Lovely crinkly edges."

Well done Groovy, ndrqu, hhgygy, Walter, krenek and alchemist for finding the very pleasant view, and thanks to others who tried. The location is here. If anyone is interested in exploring this region of Norway further, the Street View Trekker team has been very active. There are numerous fun sites to explore on this trek, which is only visible when zoomed in on GM. This trek is one of several in Norway that covers their snow fields. They give an insight into the geography and topography that is not otherwise readily available. Excellent.

Some used two keywords, some none.... I've no idea what to do when I see some snow, some sea, some mountains.... Could be lots of places. Also, when I'm on my phone I cannot find the GE view from the SV view I got from a link. So the name of the place or coords would be nice. Thanks.

"Walter" added. How to find : Well this is how I found such a places. Using GM map view with Street View locations turned on, I looked for places of blue blobs that are isolated or clusters of isolated blue blobs, then zoom in until they are blue lines (hopefully). Sometimes the blue blobs disappear while zooming in, and only reappear on zooming in further. Then I look around. Here is the Norway example: I have no idea how to go about finding the place with keywords. Maybe hhgygy will enlighten us. I am sure that using a phone would be restrictive. I do not have a smart phone. I hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. I will check all this when I'm near my comp. I only use the phone when I have no other choice. Usually to check answers. You still haven't said the name of the place. Or do you really want me to find this by myself?

My first thought was it could be Vancouver. Then i started scanning suspicious areas in GE, but to no avail. After reading ndrqu's answer, i took the keywords from his post: "town surrounded by mountains" plus "bridge" and image search provided me this picture at page 7, presenting the city of Tromsø. But forgive me, i was to lazy to go for a SV shot.

And you know what, I was actually very close at one point, thanks to that bridge (I looked for bridges in Norway). Maybe I didn't see or turn on the blue trek lines or something. Maybe it was very late at night. Also, GM. I hate GM and I am not patient with it. Anyway, thanks, another "I could have found this if only I..."
